What’s on in April @ Eccles RFC

Well, you think it’s almost all over do you, well not blinking likely.  Below is a brief reseme of what you can enjoy at Eccles RFC during the month of April.

Friday 1st Paul Fleming presents a Race Night open to all sections of the club. The event comes under Starters Orders at 7:30pm. This is in aid of the club’s M&J section, so no lame excuses, no nagging from the Mrs, and definatley no refusals to come and enjoy yourself.

Saturday 2nd First Team v Kirkby Lonsdale (KO 3:00pm), this will be preceded by a Sponsors Lunch at 1:00pm.
Second Team v Hull BP (touring team). Rumours that Able Seaman, along with the Bates Twins, a cabin boy called Roger and a Seafarer from Staines, will make an appearance are circulating.

Sunday 3rd Ladies 1’s v Waterloo (KO 2:00), sees the big Ladies take on the league leaders. A win for the Ladies will see them gain a top half finishing position.
Ladies 2’s v Garstang, a good result here will see the little Ladies challenge for a solid third place finish in their league.

Saturday 9th First Team away to Warrington, so no excuses for not coming back to the club after that to watch Saracens v Northampton in the European Champions Cup Quarter Final (KO 5:45pm).
Second Team away to Fleetwood, excuses are slightly allowable, but only slightly, and on condition that you have a letter from yer mum.

Sunday 10th U16’s v Wilmslow (KO 11:00am), see Sam’s Lads play their last home game as Juniors and of the season.

Wed’sday 13th FA Cup Quarter Final on TV; WHU v MU KO 7:00pm.  There’s jobs on the line here.

Saturday 16th First Team v Broughton Park (KO 3:00pm). A chance to see old friends.
Second Team away to Littleborough.  Snow permitting.

Sunday 17th Usual M&J chaos, with ankle snappers running round and winding up Fat Harry.

Saturday 23rd First Team v Altrincham Kersal (KO 3:00pm). Last home game of the season for the 1st’s. This may be followed by an FA Cup semi-final, depending on who’s playing.   Also on the TV will be a European Champions Cup Semi Final, how we get it all in, like a blind Bamby, I’ve no idea.
Second Team away to Trafford MV, how many will be able to make that long journey?

Sunday 24th Eccles RFC host Senior Colts League Cup Finals, 4 games in total. Volunteers required for all parts of the day, no experience required, on job training given.

Wed’sday 27th Presentation of “Club of the Year” (aka CotY) award to Eccles RFC from local Camra (campaign for real ale) Branch, KO 7:30pm for 8:00pm. Free Buffet provided.

Saturday 30th Second Team v Wigan (KO 3:00pm). This could well be a relegation decider for the 2’s.
Eccles RFC host a Junior Tournament for sides from throughout the land. This will run from 9:00am to 5:00pm, hopefully with Eccles teams taking part. Volunteers again required.

About mparkinson

Before I started on my quest of world domination I was a part time dress maker, specialising in the larger woman.

To succed in my aim of world domination my first plan is to cause social unrest and panic through subliminal messages in my match reports, so reader beware.

During my long journey of life I have caused havoc in many lands, Geordie land, Cockney land and now Manc land. And this is without mentioning what I got up to in foreign rugby tours to USA, Canada, Holland, Hungary, Ireland & Wales.
