A fantastic turnout saw the team have the luxury of having substitutes for his game so optimism was high for another win.
Refereed by our own Jonathan the game got off to a flying start but both teams were very evenly matched and it was well into the dying minutes of the first quarter until Mason finally broke the deadlock to score the first try of the match.
In the second quarter the opposition were not about to take defeat without a fight and scored 2 tries in quick succession, but some great passing from Michael and Max saw Alex put his head down and drive across the line to draw the game level.
After some wise words from the Grand Master of Rugby, Paul, the Boys came into the third quarter with a determination to win, Mason scored a fine try running straight through the opposition and taking no prisoners and followed it up a few minutes later with some mighty fine shimmying through the Littleborough defence to score once again.
Going into the last quarter all square at 4-4 it really was all to play for and the lads didn’t let themselves down, Mason got the opportunity to score twice more, a brief comeback from the opposition couldn’t overcome the boys and left the final score at 6-5 to the mighty Eccles.
This was not an easy game and Littleborough played a very much more defensive game than the boys are used to, The midfield engine of Conor and Finley kept the game flowing and the away team constantly under pressure.
Flynn, Sandy, Josh and Alfie played a vital role in defence keeping the opposition at bay, with Tyler, Finley, Micheal and Max were all unlucky not to score but instead played an unselfish game and passing to provide others with the opportunity to score.
Final Score: Eccles 6 – 5 Littleborough
