Glad to be back anyone ???????
It was good to see everyone down at Gorton Street for the start of the 2014/15 season in perfect autumn conditions. Whilst numbers were good and no losses on the end of last season we do have a very uneven split between U7s (4 plus 1 away) and U8s (12 plus 1 away). We may need a recruitment drive so spread the word!
For the time being we will keep U7s and U8s together in training until numbers allow separation of the sessions.
Anyways … a big Eccles welcome to 2 new faces, Ben and Guy. I hope you enjoyed your first session and will be back for more.
The session was a gentle introduction. For once there was very little messing about and all seemed enthusiastic (certainly in what I saw before training actually started). We performed a few simple passing drills and the odd set of shuttle runs (nothing too taxing for these seasoned veterans)
STAR OF THE WEEK. Everyone did well, enthusiasm throughout (and a few cobwebs) with both Ben and Guy doing well for their first session. I would also like to mention the good work on the passing drills with the mini team of Reece, Mitchel and Lucus showing the rest how to perform them properly. This week, however, I have awarded STAR OF THE WEEK for the concentration and discipline shown by Michael. Model player all session! … well done and keep it up.
I hope everyone took advantage of the army of people in the club on Sunday for registration, kit and sponsorship etc and I would like to thank those that have already “signed on”! For those who have not yet registered, the forms are now available on the club website. These forms (Eccles specific) now contain fields for the information to be typed in (and saved) before printing. They can be accessed from the Downloads/Documents page on the website or using the following links:
If you are looking to take photos at training sessions or games for personal use then you will need to apply for Photographer privileges
I hope to see everyone back down next week for training (bringing friends along) and long may the good weather continue.
