U7s Presentation Results

The marquee was in position, the coaches were in shirt and tie (well most of them), and everybody was brimming with anticipation and nervous energy.

After the obligatory waffle from yours truly the awards were presented as follows

The bronze award is the coach’s choice for training and improvement.

This player is an official Under 6 but does not look out of place in a top Under 7 team and is regularly one of the better players on any given match day or training session.

Comments from the weekly reports include
“was outstanding in both defence and attack, stopping MV from scoring certain tries on numerous occasions. His work ethic and enthusiasm both with and without the ball inspired the team performance”

The 2014 bronze award winner goes to Max “On A Mission” Merriman.

The silver award is the Under7s Clubman of the year.

This award is all about the taking part, the attendance, the effort and the attitude. Any one of players that could have been presented with this award but the decision has been swayed by general comments and observations mentioned to me by parents over the course of the season

Comments from the weekly reports include
“a piece of genius opportune running to take the ball whilst the reds defence was in disarray and going over in the corner for the try of the game”
and has a technique that includes
“A bat of the eye lashes, a shimmy of the hips, tunnel vision for the try line and an “Eat my dust” attitude”

The 2014 Silver award goes to “Captain Super” Pegs

The gold and top award is for Players Player.

This is an important award as it is the praise and respect given by your fellow players. It was a close race, with three players in running for the award but only one can win it..

His comments from the weekly reports include
“scored a great try when he ran straight through the middle of the MV defence leaving them flapping at his tags”
“typical strong running and full on tackling (aren’t we supposed to be playing TAG rugby) taking the game to Blackburn”
“awesome”, “great ball handling”, “loves getting stuck in” and “a natural flanker”

The 2014 gold award and the Under 7s Players Player of the year … Ben “Flanker” Haslam

Well done to all of the team for the efforts this year.
