U13’s and a Sausage & Bacon Barm

Without wanting to step on anyones toes, I thought I would use my access to the Eccles website to briefly congratulate the U13’s on todays fantastic win over Rossendale.

I had dropped my lad off to train with the U16’s and took the chance to have a sneaky sausage & bacon barm whist watching the training session over the top of the game that unfolded on the 1st team pitch.

Within 5 minutes my mind was off U16’s training and firmly fixed on the U13’s game which was an absolute belter with a flurry of wonderful tries, each worthy of its own TV replay. My favourite try being the 1st which was scored by Henry (I think) who, running towards his own half, collected a high ball, wheeled away, weaving in and out and avoiding the onrushing Rossendale players to go over in the corner.

Beyond the try scoring, the overall game play of the lads was a joy to watch with multiple displays of superb tackling, powerful running and tremendous support play right across the team. The victory, chalked up on the scoreboard was reflected in all areas of play – number of tackles, scrums won, passes made, possession held – everywhere!

Congratulations on an outstanding performance and win!

Well done the U13’s, lets hope that the Under 16’s can mirror this performance and result when they take on Clitheroe RUFC who in their 40th year come to the Stade de Gorton St for our Semi-Final clash on Sunday 9th April.
