After a busy weekend at Eccles RFC, we have received three thank you messages in the space of a couple of hours on Sunday night that we thought should be shared.
1) From the President of Lancashire Rugby Union.
A big thank you for your hospitality at yesterday’s game. A pleasure to visit such a go ahead club and talk to a few of the people involved. Best wishes for the rest of the season.
2) From Saracens Supporters Association.
I am one of the three Saracens supporters who went to the Eccles RFC club house last Saturday after the Sale v Saracens game. I want to say thanks for your club’s warm welcome and for hosting a great beer festival. I especially would like to thank you for notifying the Saracens Supporters Association of the event!
The fans forum, thesaracens.co.uk, would like to publish an article about our visit. Is there a chance I can ask a few questions to the guy who runs the beer festival, how he is so passionate about real ale and how Eccles RFC won the North Manchester CAMRA Club of the Year? It will certainly be a positive write-up and that Eccles RFC will become a recommended pre- and post-match venue for future Sale v Saracens games.
Many thanks again and kind regards,
Saracens Supporters Association”
3) From The Brainwave Charity
Participants from the Eccles RFC Duke of Edinburgh Award volunteered at the Sale Sharks v Saracens game over the weekend to raise funds for the charity Brainwave, who support over 600 children with additional needs (www.brainwave.org.uk). The DofE lads and lasses helped to sell 142 ducks for the Charity’s 2015 Duck Race, as well as raising a further £30 in donations. As you can see from the picture (Bottom of the page), Chris and Kane from the Silver Group also rose to the challenge of Ducks v Sharky for a quick game during half time! The DofE has supported Brainwave at a number of previous fundraising events at Sale Sharks and last year’s Silver Group took Mummy duck and her ducklings on their Silver Expedition on the Wye. Well done and thank you to all involved! Donations can be made online via the website or to buy a duck for the 6th Annual Duck Race being held on 3rd April visit https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/brainwave
“Thank you so much for helping me by recruiting volunteers for the sale shark game today. They did you proud not only are they a lovely bunch of individuals they were polite and enthusiastic selling ducks. Chis and Kane actually came on the pitch at half time and played with sharky too! We sold 142 ducks and raised a further £30 in donations. I will send you a certificate and letter of thanks for each of them for helping Brainwave.
Best wishes, Carole Headley”
