Ladies Second XV

Eccles Ladies are trying to start a Second Team. The purpose of the team will be to give playing opportunities for new or inexperienced players, and for those who can’t or don’t want to commit to the rigours of Level 2 rugby. The plan is to generate interest and numbers throughout the coming season via various events and games, with a hope to enter the team into league rugby for the 2014/15 season.

The first of these events is a ‘pitch up and play’ skills development day being run at the club by the RFU on Sunday 29th September, starting at 12.00. The event is open to all so it doesn’t matter if you’ve never played before, have but not for a long time, or if you play regularly and would like to brush up on your skills. The day will feature basic skills training and end in some type of game, but people only have to participate in what they comfortable with. To book a place just contact Mark Greenhalgh (07525 434790).

If you or someone you know has thought about playing ladies rugby but been put off by the learning curve or physicality level this is the perfect opportunity to dip your toe in the water. Please spread the word!
