Eccles
Juniors and Minis sections were formed in 1991 when the current
Juniors Head Coach, Dave Nichols and a handful of other "dads" made
an arrangement one Saturday evening after a game to get together
the following Sunday morning to give their youngsters some
coaching. By 1993 they had 50 plus youngsters and in 1997 this
had increased to 150. The section now has squads at every age
group from under 7's to under 16's, and has over 30 RFU approved
coaches. The under 16's, 15's and 14's currently have players
representing Lancashire.

Every
September the section hosts an invitation tournament that has
quickly established itself as an example of smooth organisation
and friendly competitiveness. In April the Juniors and Minis
set off on their Annual Tour, this year staying at Centreparcs
in Longleat and playing against local Bath Clubs. The season
is rounded off with a weekend of festivities held in a large
marquee on the pitch, which culminates in a presentation of
awards to the players. |
