In memory of Jeff Crompton a number of fund-raising activities are taking place in the coming weeks.
His partner Jackie is participating in the Pretty Muddy Fun Run in June, in aid of Cancer Research, and would welcome donations in memory of Jeff
His team-mate, Jeff Gorton, pictured above with Jeff Crompton, is undertaking his own challenge:
Hi all, I am writing to let you know that after a gap of 23 years, I am running in the Manchester 10k on Sunday 28 May in aid of the Christie Hospital. I am running as a tribute to two special people who, in the last 2 weeks, have lost the fight against cancer. My cousin Carol Gorton, 67 from Monton, and my friend of 50 years from Eccles Rugby Club, Jeff Crompton, 71.
I have started a Just Giving page which has been circulated on Facebook, but am trying to reach friends who may not have access to that, to raise some money for this worthy cause and do what we can to eradicate this awful disease.
If you click on the link below it will send you to my Just Giving page or you can donate in whatever way you can, it will be very much appreciated – or you could just come along and support on the day.
I make no apologies for writing in this way, I don’t normally do begging letters, but this is such a worthy cause and with my recent losses I feel I should at least try.
Thanking you in anticipation.
Two very worthy causes in memory of a great man.
