It is with great pride & pleasure that we are able to announce that once again Eccles RFC have be voted Club of the Year by the North Manchester Branch of Camra (campaign for real ale). This makes it three years on the bounce that the club has been honoured in such a fashion. This is recognition of both the quality and (Ted, Harry et al, please note) range of beers served by the club.
Well done to all involved, especially the Witch behind the bar and all her little witchetts. And before you all start herumphing, the name Witch relates to an old fashion term for a female brewer of beer, bet you didnt know that, did you eh.
Final note, just to upset the old fogies again, any connection between the club retaining this acclaimed award and Wainwright’s being on the bar is totally coincidental. I promise you.
