Eccles took on our neighbours from over the other side of the bridge for another close contest. With enough players to have two games a the same time, the standard of rugby from both sides was a pleasure to watch.
Eccles took the opportunity to field new players with Eva running lines as though she’d been playing for some time, being supported by our other female representatives, Megan and Jessica. The girls really combine well!
The boys in the team took their lead with Max, in only his second game showing the way -looking for gaps in the Trafford defence constantly. Alfie once again pushed himself before getting a deserved try before MV came back with a quick brace to take a lead with some great rugby. Luke looked comfortable with hands on the ball, enjoying the chance to play rugby in the sunshine for once!
With two games at the same time it’s difficult to report on, but our Director of Rugby reported on the game he invidulated, and confirmed an Eccles win with Ollie bagging two tries, Danniel one, Maxwell one and Noah getting tagged just before the line after a fine run down the wing.
A big thanks to Smudger, Stewart and the MV coaching staff for officiating the games as the standard of rugby played by their teams is a credit to them.
