After several hair adjustments the team photo was taken then Eccles got on with the warm up. The game started with Eccles loaning Johnny to the opposition to make up the numbers and the game got underway. Eccles piled on the pressure and when Harry drove forward towards the Blackburn line he was stopped short but Rob took over and piled over to score the first try of the game, Aaron converted, 7-0.Blackburn responded and were awarded with a penalty, 7-3.

Eccles got the ball out well through the backs which saw Tom Heath go over in the corner, Aaron missed the difficult conversion, 12-3. The forwards controlled the rucks and when the ball was passed out it became the Harry & Ben show. Harry passed to Ben who passed it back, then back to Ben who scored. “It was like watching the Bar Bars” shouted Dave Benn on the touch line, Aaron converted, 19-3.

Minutes later Harry received the ball and after a good drive went over to score, Aaron converted, 26-3.

Throughout the half both Curtis and Harry gained ground whenever they received the ball.

Blackburn regrouped and went close but were held back from the Eccles try line. This seemed to spur them on as the next attack saw them score a try which they converted, 26-10.

Coach Dave made some changes which paid off as the next Eccles attack saw Harry go over for his 2nd try, Aaron missed the conversion, 31-10.

HT 31-10.

Into the 2nd half, Tom Waring went over to the opposition,

Coach Dave wanted the Eccles lads to switch on mentally and it soon paid off as Curtis ran through several tackles and off loaded to Johnny now back in Eccles colours who went over to score, Aaron converted, 38-10.

Eccles continued to pile on the pressure which saw Lenny drive over, Aaron converted, 45-10.

Next on the score sheet was Connor who received the ball from the penalty and burst through the defence to score, Aaron converted, 52-10. The last Eccles attack of the game saw Rob go over to score his 2nd try which Aaron converted, 59-10.
