Eccles 4th 36 V Moore Vets 50 23/02/2013

The fourths managed to cobble together a team for one of their occasional outings and featured in an amazing high scoring
match though in truth were always slightly second best to visitors even though they held the lead for a large portion of the match.Eccles drew first blood with Connor MCkinney powering through for the opening try but the visitors soon replied to nose ahead .Winger Ricky Reynolds got in on the act scrambling over in the corner with Mike Ince adding the conversion to put Eccles back in front but Moore were back level with a try in time. Mike Ince then weaved his way through the oppostion defence for two tries converting one to leave the fourths 24-12 ahead at the interval. On the restart Moore immediately reduced the deficit with a converted try before Ince completed his hatrick to once more stretch the Eccles lead. This was the high point for the fourths as the fitter visitors took control scoring three tries to lead by 9 points .A breakaway try by Mike Lewin converted by Tom Wilson put the fourths back within touching distance but it proved a mirage as Moore finished off with two tries to seal a merited victory. The scoreline might suggest that both sides had abandoned their defnsive duties but each of the tries had to be worked for and well done to players who made the effort to turh out and make it an entertaining match.
