Eccles 3rd 75 v Old Aldwinians 4th 0 05/11/2016

It may have been bonfire day but most of the fireworks were for later as the visitors who arrived with only 13 were torn apart in the first half The thirds were soon on a roll as from a line out Adam Prendergast drove through to score and followed a high tackle Eccles moved the penalty and pop pass saw Tom Rose go over .There was no respite for Aldwinians as Prendergast counter and Ash Nasir continued the move to touchdown Adam was again involved with Danny Griffiths setting up Matt Appleby who finished well.A rare visitors chance was spurned as penalty shot at goal  went wide and were punished as Eccles pinched a scrum and Prendergast went 30m to score and then following a break with a good display of hands Wes Harrison added another try with Giffirths having converted all the tries it was 42-0 at the interval .Having been  clinical in the first half   in the passing and execution in the second the play became over complicated and the individually the was held a fraction too long, Nonetheless Eccles had an early score for despite it now being unopposed scrumming the visitors managed to pop the ball out of their own scrum and Josh Waring seized the ball to dummy his way for 0the try .Good passing across the home 22 saw the ball with Harrison who sped 60 to score once more. Then came the bum note of the day for Josh got a yellow card for persistent infringements just as did dad Andy came on to play with him.Another fine move saw Danny Griffiths touchdown followed by a switch move which Riddick Manaye took to go  under the posts from clos range. Harry Pendlebury completed the try scoring after another counter attack and Griffiths converted making it 10 of 11 attempts. There were contributions from all quarters with Harry Melia getting maestro of the match from work in the forwards in a game where the outcome was inevitable from the very earliest stage
