DofE Fundraising Run

Two of the parents of the new DofE Bronze Group due to start in September are doing the City of Salford 10k run on Sunday 7th September to help raise funds for the DofE.  They are Ruth McGaharan and Maria Cox (parents of Matt and Finlay respectively).

Please use this as an excuse to give generously to the community activities Eccles RFC offers. Its costs £4000 to ensure our young people have the opportunity of completing the various medal awards each year.

Below is a short message from Ruth and Maria.

“Our sons Matthew Hope and Finlay Cox play for the under 15’s Eccles Rugby Union Team and are about to take on the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award challenge.  They won’t be able to do this without the support of Eccles RUFC staff and it’s amazing volunteers.  The ability of the rugby club to support our boys in these adventures, mainly depends on generous donations as well as club fund raising events.  Therefore we are hoping to give something back to the club by running the City of Salford 10k run on 7 September.  Any donations would be greatly appreciated.”
