Our fantastic HITZ programme, ran out of Eccles Rugby Club, is looking to recruit young people (age 16-19) onto our programme immediately.
We run a six month traineeship where learners will gain qualifications, improve their English and Maths, complete a four week work placement and, upon finishing the programme, they will progress into a job or further study. The programme runs from Monday to Thursday 9.30 am till 3.00 pm, with education sessions starting at 10.00 am until 1.30 pm and sports/issue based/employability session starting 1.45 pm until 3.00 pm. As well as this we take learners on trips to sports tournaments, international rugby matches, Sale Sharks games, and Land Rover Experience Days amongst many other fun days out.
Additionally, young people can receive a weekly bursary (means tested), free kit and the opportunity meet Sale Sharks players.
HITZ is Premiership Rugby’s award-winning education and employability programme which works with over 2,000 young people, aged 14-18 years old, across England every year.
HITZ uses rugby’s core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship to support young people not in education, training or employment (NEET) back into education, training, apprenticeships and/or employment, and is delivered nationally by England’s 12 professional rugby clubs.
The HITZ Learning Academy offers a relaxed environment, targeted at 16-18 year olds, to improve their functional Maths and English, develop valuable life skills and gain important qualifications alongside experience from work placements and employer-led sessions. The programme also offers essential enrichment and sporting activities which supports the development of the whole individual through not only improving their mental but physical wellbeing as well.
HITZ is funded by partners Land Rover, Comic Relief and Wooden Spoon.
If you are, or know, a young person who would be interested in the programme please get in touch with Aaron today.
