Eccles Ladies have been promoted three times in the past five seasons and last year finished fifth in Championship North 1, the second tier of the RFU’s women’s competition. They have a large squad ranging from novices to North of England representatives. They are part of an extremely supportive club that has a full complement of female teams, with U13, U15 and U18 girls as well. They are now looking for an Assistant Coach(es) to support the Head Coach in further improving the side in the coming season.
Training nights are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 19.00-21.00 (sometimes preceded/followed by management team meetings). Games are played on Sunday afternoons but sometimes require full day commitments due to the travelling involved (as far as Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Nottingham). Coaches would be expected to attend at least two of these sessions, but preferably all three. The role is voluntary but the club will subsidise the costs of gaining coaching qualifications/attending courses etc.
The role would ideally suit an applicant with a sound understanding of the game (or one aspect of it) who is looking for their first experience of coaching, or has done some coaching and is now looking to gain experience with seniors/ladies, but all applications would be considered. To apply please send a rugby CV/explanation of experience to Mark Greenhalgh.
